We are honoured to welcome you to the department of commerce. The department of commerce runs a number of programmes in its endeavors to support and live Murang’a University of Technology's vision of being a University of excellence in training, research and innovation for socio-economic development. The department endeavors to develop leaders and professionals in Business, Management and Management Sciences suitable for dynamic world that we live in.

Currently the department offers programmes at Masters, Degree, Diploma, Certificate, and Professional courses as explained below:

Masters degree in a relevant field from a University recognized by CUE and the University Senate.

Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration

Masters degree in a relevant field from a University recognized by CUE and the University Senate. 

Three (3)

Academic years

Master of Public

Administration  

Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class honours (Upper Division) in any discipline or its equivalent from an institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate; OR 

Be a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class honours in any discipline provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability or three (3) years relevant experience in a relevant field.

Two (2) Academic years

Master of Business

Administration 

Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class honours (Upper Division) in any discipline or its equivalent from an institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate; OR Be a holder of a Bachelors degree with Lower Second Class honours in any discipline provided the candidate can show proven evidence of research ability or three (3) years relevant experience in a relevant field.

Two (2) Academic years

Bachelor of Commerce 

K.C.S.E. Mean   Grade   C+ (Plus), C in Mathematics and English; OR a relevant three (3) year Diploma from an Institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate.

Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies

Management

K.C.S.E.  Mean grade C+ and C in English or Kiswahili and Mathematics; OR a relevant three (3) year Diploma from an Institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate..

Bachelor of Arts in

Economics 

K.C.S.E. Mean   Grade   C+ (Plus), C in Mathematics and English; OR a relevant three (3) year Diploma from an Institution recognized by CUE and the University Senate.

Bachelor of Arts in

Public Administration
